About Louis Dauterive

Louis was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, where he graduated from St. Thomas More High School in 2014. Following his graduation, Louis enrolled at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated from LSU in 2018, majoring in Business Information Systems and Decision Sciences with a concentration in Data Analytics. Following his graduation, Louis attended Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, graduating Cum Laude in 2021. During his time at SULC, Louis earned the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Legal Writing, Louisiana Civil Procedure, and International Environmental Law.

Prior to joining Tomeny | Best as a law clerk in the Fall of 2020, Louis worked in the Silicon Valley for Juniper Networks in their in-house legal department. While there he worked on Juniper’s data privacy, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, and legal operations teams. In addition, during the COVID pandemic, Louis worked remotely for the Honorable Duke Welch of the Louisiana 1stCircuit Court of Appeal and as a law clerk for a Lafayette-based defense firm. In his free time, Louis enjoys returning to Lafayette to eat the best food in Louisiana, playing golf, cheering on the Cajuns and Tigers, and going to New Orleans to watch the Saints play every Sunday.
