About Matthew Berthold

Matthew Berthold has been a trial attorney since 2013, beginning his career at his father's firm in his hometown of Charleston, West Virginia. Growing up around the legal practice, he developed a deep empathy for families dealing with catastrophic injuries or deaths. After representing West Virginians for years, Matthew and his wife Kirsten relocated to Charlotte, where he began his North Carolina practice in 2020.

At Brown Moore & Associates, Matthew handles cases ranging from individual personal injury claims to mass litigation, having served as co-lead and liaison counsel in cases before the West Virginia Mass Litigation Panel. He holds memberships in the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, the West Virginia Association for Justice, and the American Association for Justice. Before law school, Matthew completed his undergraduate education at the University of Kentucky and worked in the communications department of the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers.
