Timothy J. Grimes

Timothy J. Grimes is an accomplished trial lawyer who joined the personal injury law firm, Decof, Mega & Quinn, P.C. in January 2017. Timothy began his legal career as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Luis M. Matos, then-presiding on the Providence County Superior Court Motion Calendar. Following this, he became an associate at preeminent international law firm K&L Gates, LLP in Boston, Massachusetts, where he gained significant litigation experience. Timothy was extensively involved in the 38 Studios matter in Rhode Island during his time at K&L Gates.

After several years of practicing corporate litigation, Timothy decided to pursue his passion for becoming a trial lawyer. His strong relationships formed throughout law school and in his legal career led him to join Decof, Mega, & Quinn in 2017. Since then, he has dedicated himself to handling catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, medical negligence, and product liability claims at both the state and federal levels. For Timothy, being a plaintiffs' trial lawyer is an opportunity to stand up for justice and hold those accountable for their actions.

It is a way to change the lives of his clients for the better, and he is proud to do so. Timothy was born and raised in Rhode Island and currently resides in Newport with his wife, daughter, and their red fox lab, Finley. He is an accomplished sailor and actively involved in the sailing community, locally and nationally. Timothy also serves on various volunteer boards, advocating for inclusivity and organizing access to education in the sport of sailing.
