About Brett Ligon

Brett Ligon is Of Counsel at Kherkher Garcia and a former five-term Montgomery County District Attorney. He earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his J.D. from South Texas College of Law. Over his 17-year tenure as District Attorney, Brett tried more than 100 jury trials to verdict, placing him among the most experienced trial attorneys in Texas.

He implemented the District Attorney's Response Team (DART), deploying prosecutors and investigators to scenes involving homicides and traffic fatalities caused by alcohol, drugs, or dangerous speed. His priorities included prosecuting child exploitation, habitual offenders, and crimes causing catastrophic injury or death. He now applies that prosecutorial intensity to catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases for plaintiffs at Kherkher Garcia.
