Peter DePaolis

Peter C. DePaolis is a founding member of Koonz McKenney Johnson & DePaolis LLP and a Virginia and Washington, D.C. personal injury attorney now retired from active practice. Admitted to the Virginia bar in 1976, he served two years as a U.S. Army Lieutenant before clerking for the Honorable William E. Stewart, Jr. of the D.C. Superior Court and serving as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Columbia. Since entering private practice in 1980, he has exclusively represented personal injury victims in cases involving auto and trucking crashes, medical malpractice, workers' compensation, traumatic brain injuries, and toxic torts. He is best known for his asbestos and mesothelioma work, including the landmark Wilson v. Johns Manville decision recognizing separate claims for asbestosis and mesothelioma, and has recovered more than $30 million on behalf of asbestos victims.
