Frank Swarr

Frank J. Swarr is a founding partner of Landry & Swarr. He is licensed to practice law in Louisiana and Washington, D.C. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University in 1989, where he was inducted into Chi Epsilon National Civil Engineering Honor Society. He graduated from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans in 1994, where he was a member of both the Loyola Law Review and Loyola Moot Court Staff and was inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit Honor Society. Since 1994, Frank has focused his practice on representing victims of asbestos exposure and their families with an emphasis on cases involving malignant mesothelioma, and has served as principal trial and appeal counsel on numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements for his clients.

Frank has appeared before the United States Supreme Court, as well as before the Louisiana Supreme Court on numerous occasions, including the landmark case of Bourgeois v. AP Green, 716 So.2d 355 (La. 1998), in which the Supreme Court recognized for the first time in Louisiana the right of those exposed to toxic substances to recover the costs of future medical monitoring. Frank also successfully tried to verdict and argued on appeal Zimko v. American Cyanamid, 905 So.2d 465 (La. App.

4th Cir. 2005), the first case in which a Louisiana court recognized a duty to protect family members from asbestos fibers brought home on the work clothes of workers exposed to asbestos. Frank has also been an invited speaker at Continuing Legal Education seminars for both plaintiff and defense attorneys.
