Matthew Clark

Matt aggressively represents people diagnosed with asbestos diseases and their families, asbestosis, lung cancer and mesotheliomas. He has recovered millions of dollars for his clients throughout all phases of civil litigation and in state and federal courts, pre-trial, trial and appellate. Matt recently secured a unanimous jury award of $7,750,000 for the daughter and son of a chemical engineer who lost his life to mesothelioma. The case is Gaddy v. Taylor-Seidenbach, Inc., No. 2019-cv-12926.

He also handles complex legal issues at the appellate level through both in-person and written argument, including federal and state appellate courts. Matt has recovered money for clients who experienced asbestos exposure in many different settings, including motorcycle, railroad and automotive mechanics, tradesmen at shipyards, papermills, chemical plants, among other industrial settings. He has done the same for those who have experienced asbestos exposures in their own homes, through sharing the home with or washing the contaminated work clothes of a loved one.

Matt’s educational and professional background is a bit diverse. The University of New Orleans awarded him a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Louisiana Tech University awarded him a master’s degree in Industrial Psychology. Loyola University College of Law awarded him a juris doctorate in civil law.

During Matt’s time at Loyola, he served on the Law Review and worked full-time for the City of New Orleans. Matt’s work for the City involved the application of Organizational Psychology theory to the workplace. If you want to laugh, ask him his job title. Loyola College of Law graduated Matt in 2007.

He has been a practicing, Louisiana-licensed attorney since 2007. He is a member of the Louisiana and New Orleans bar associations and is licensed to practice law in all Louisiana state and federal courts. Matt is also a proud alumnus of Holy Cross High School.
