About Adam Deutsch
Adam Deutsch is Of Counsel to Meirowitz & Wasserberg, LLP and an accomplished trial attorney concentrating on complex civil litigation, catastrophic personal injury, and medical malpractice. Over the course of his career he has spent more than 10 years at a major New York personal injury firm and approximately 8 years at prominent New York City firms, including time clerking for the Honorable Sherry Klein-Heitler and serving in public prosecution.
Mr. Deutsch earned his undergraduate degree from Union College in 1999 and his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 2002. Mr. Deutsch's results include a $62 million verdict in Lin v. Hutch Realty, which was reported as the 31st largest jury verdict nationally and the third largest in New York State in 2014. He has also obtained what has been described as the largest pedestrian knockdown verdict in New York State (2013), as well as $9.2 million and $4 million medical malpractice verdicts in Westchester County.
His honors include selection as a New York Super Lawyers Rising Star (2013), National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 (2014), New York Metro Super Lawyer (2014-2019), and Best Lawyers in America (2019-present). A Richland County jury unanimously awarded $32 million, including $10 million in punitive damages against Kraft Heinz, after finding that secondhand asbestos fibers carried home on work clothes caused Kathy Weist's fatal mesothelioma diagnosis.
A Boston jury found on Sept. 13, 2024 that Cimbar Performance Minerals misrepresented the safety of its Elite Talc 2000 and that its negligence helped cause a Utah man's mesothelioma, which was diagnosed seven years after he received talc during a 2014 pleurodesis. It is the first known verdict on that theory. The jury awarded about $39.1 million, and the trial judge later cut the future pain and suffering item from $21.5 million to $6 million. About $23.6 million stood.
