Eric Playter

Eric Playter is an attorney at Playter Trial Lawyers in Kansas City, Missouri. He assists with all areas of civil litigation but specializes in personal injury and wrongful death cases. Before joining Playter Trial Lawyers, Playter practiced civil defense litigation for almost a decade, representing some of the largest companies in the area and gaining insight into how those entities approach legal battles. He later shifted his career to representing clients who have been injured, or who have otherwise suffered loss, due to the negligence of another individual.

Playter was named a Rising Star, a distinction recognizing top young attorneys in Kansas and Missouri, for five consecutive years by Super Lawyers magazine, a designation held by only 2.5 percent of lawyers in the area. In 2019 he received the Lon O. Hocker Award, which honors exemplary young trial lawyers. In December 2024, Playter served as co-counsel with BG Law's Blake Green in Coffee v. White, in which a Jackson County jury returned a $34.1 million verdict for a plaintiff struck by an intoxicated driver. Outside of work, Playter spends much of his time playing golf, flying, and spending time with his family.
