Matt Young

Dr. Matt Young, M.D., J.D., M.B.A., CMQ, is a partner at Ross Feller Casey whose career was shaped in part by losing his father to medical malpractice. He earned his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and his J.D. from Harvard Law School and joined the firm to hold healthcare systems accountable for catastrophic harm. He works on the firm's most complex cases involving catastrophic injury and wrongful death and has directly assisted the founding partners in major recoveries including $35 million for a woman whose uterine infection was mismanaged, resulting in multiple amputations; $32.5 million for a child who sustained a brain injury due to failures to treat maternal infection and fetal distress; $20 million for a newborn who sustained a neurological injury due to medical negligence; $16 million for an infant who sustained a brain injury from a mismanaged viral infection; and $16 million in a wrongful death case involving a treatable form of cancer. Dr. Young is nationally recognized for his work in healthcare quality and patient safety.

He is a National Quality Scholar, board-certified in medical quality (CMQ), a peer reviewer for the Journal of Patient Safety, and a published author in leading medical texts. He graduated with honors from Harvard College with an A.B. in Government and also earned an M.B.A. from the Quantic School of Business and Technology. He is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is a Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine.
