Born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana, Walden attended Butler University on an athletic and academic foundation, graduating magna cum laude with Honors in 2007 with a Marketing degree and a minor in Political Science. At Butler, he held leadership roles at his fraternity (Sigma Chi), played intercollegiate soccer, and served as the school newspaper's Opinion Editor. He earned his Juris Doctor from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

Walden practiced for six years in Connecticut before returning to Indiana in 2016. He is admitted to practice law in Indiana, Connecticut, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
