About Frank Melendez

Frank M. Melendez has been a trial attorney at Subin Law for over 45 years, since beginning his career under Bert W. Subin in 1980. Born and raised in Brooklyn, he earned a B.A. in Sociology and Legal Studies from SUNY Binghamton in 1979 and a Paralegal Certificate with honors from Adelphi University in 1980. He then attended Brooklyn Law School on a four-year program, earning his J.D. in 1987 and passing the New York State Bar that same year. Since 1987 he has handled all phases of personal injury litigation in New York, from case inception through trial.

In 1990 he was admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and in 1994 to the U.S. Supreme Court. That same year he secured his first seven-figure jury verdict. Over his career he has obtained multiple seven- and eight-figure verdicts, including a $6.4 million verdict for a client injured on a defective sidewalk, two separate $4 million verdicts, and numerous other significant trial results. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York County Bar Association, National Hispanic Bar Association, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Bar Association.
