About Bret Griffin

Bret Griffin is a former State District Judge for the 212th District Court and a former state prosecutor, known for his analytical and measured approach to litigation. Born and raised on the Texas Gulf Coast, where his grandfather built ships at Todd's Shipyard and his father practiced medicine for over 40 years, Bret attended the University of St. Thomas in Houston and then law school at the University of Tulsa School of Law. He has practiced law since 1997, with his prior work including service as Chief Prosecutor for the Galveston County District Attorney's Office from 2000 to 2006 and then as a State District Judge.

He is now focused on plaintiff personal injury litigation. Bret earned his B.A. cum laude in Political Science from the University of St. Thomas in 1993 and his J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 1997. He speaks English and Spanish.
