About Richard Alexander

Richard Alexander is the Managing Partner of Alexander Law Group, LLP. He is a nationally recognized personal injury lawyer and consumer protection advocate with decades of experience representing families in wrongful death cases and survivors of traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and serious injuries from defective products, toxic chemicals, and vehicle accidents. Richard earned a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society, and received a full-tuition National Honor Scholarship to the University of Chicago Law School, where he earned his J.D. in 1969. He served as President of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and as Governor of the State Bar of California.

He is a founding officer of California Attorneys for Criminal Justice and served as Governor and Vice President of California Consumer Attorneys. He is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, rated 10/10 Superb by Avvo, and has been recognized as a Northern California Super Lawyer, Santa Clara County Trial Lawyer of the Year, and Top 100 California Lawyer by the American Trial Lawyers Association. He has authored over 1,300 articles and blogs, including five peer-reviewed law review articles, and has tried cases in state and federal courts across 24 states.

Settlement

Richard Alexander represented roughly 250 current and former IBM San Jose disk-drive plant workers and their families who alleged cancers and birth defects from chemical exposures, ultimately reaching a confidential settlement with IBM in June 2004 after a bellwether jury trial found for IBM.
