
About John Powers
John W. Powers is an attorney at Ankin Law in Chicago who has concentrated his entire practice on representing injured workers throughout Illinois since 2000. He authored Chapter 1 (Procedures and Summons-Request for Review) of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association's Workers' Compensation Notebook (since 2002) and drafted amendments to the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act signed into law in 2005, which established criminal penalties for uninsured employers and created the Injured Workers' Benefit Fund. He chaired the Illinois State Bar Association's Workers' Compensation Law Section from 2016 to 2017 and joined the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association's Board of Managers in 2017.
