John Godoy

John Godoy has practiced plaintiff-side employment litigation in California since 2008, representing workers in wage and hour violations, wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, and employee misclassification cases. Born in Michigan, he moved to the East Bay at age four. He attended UC San Diego and received a B.S. in Computer Engineering in 2003, then earned his J.D. from California Western School of Law in 2007.

Since 2010, his primary focus has been wage theft cases involving improper salaries and mischaracterized work hours, as well as wrongful termination and related employee rights issues. He has extensive experience in California superior courts, federal district courts, and before the Department of Labor Standards Enforcement. His background in both engineering and law gives him a technical precision useful in data-intensive wage and hour disputes.
