Mark Sokoloff

Mark Glen Sokoloff is an Of Counsel attorney at Hach & Rose, LLP in New York City, where he heads the firm's railroad department. He specializes in representing railroad workers under the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA), as well as in National Mediation Board arbitrations, railroad wrongful termination matters, and employment discrimination claims.

With over 25 years of trial experience, Mr. Sokoloff has secured numerous significant verdicts and settlements on behalf of injured railroad workers, including a $1.4 million FELA jury verdict for an injured Long Island Rail Road master mechanic and a $925,000 settlement for an Amtrak electric line worker. In 1976, early in his career, he initiated the landmark Agent Orange class action (Reutershaun v. Dow Chemical) on behalf of Vietnam veterans and their families, a twelve-year effort that contributed to the eventual class action settlement.

Mr. Sokoloff is often sought out by unions for his expertise in union organization and labor relations. He serves as designated counsel to both the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers AFL-CIO Local Lodge 754 and the Independent Railway Supervisors Association. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Ohio University in 1971 and his Juris Doctor from Brooklyn Law School in 1977.
