Chad Lucas

Chad Lucas is the founder and a trial attorney at Lucas Law Firm, LLC in Kansas City, Missouri. He has built a reputation for winning high-stakes catastrophic injury and automotive product liability cases, holding manufacturers and negligent corporations accountable. Lucas takes a trial-first approach, relying on thorough investigation, strategic depositions, and trial preparation to build his cases rather than shortcuts. Since 2005 he has dedicated his career exclusively to representing plaintiffs on a contingency-fee basis. He is licensed to practice in Missouri, Kansas, and the District of Columbia, and his work has taken him to cases across the country, including California, New York, Texas, Hawaii, Virginia, Arkansas, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

Lucas earned his B.S.B.A. in Finance from the University of Missouri in 1998 and his J.D. from the University of Missouri in 2001. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri and the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas. In 2025, Lucas and Timothy Gaarder secured a $30 million verdict in Smading v. Ward out of Henry County, Missouri. Outside of practice, Lucas is married with three children and coaches his children's sports teams.
