At age 28, Gursten became the youngest attorney in Michigan history to secure a million-dollar jury verdict. He has recovered the largest auto/truck accident settlement by a Michigan attorney: $34 million. He serves as President of the American Association for Justice's Distracted Driving Litigation Group and is past-president of the Belli Society, the AAJ Traumatic Brain Injury and Truck Accident Litigation Groups, and the Motor Vehicle Trial Lawyers Association.
