Andrea Woods

Andrea Woods joined Budge & Heipt in 2024 as an associate attorney focusing on civil rights litigation, including cases involving police misconduct and wrongful death in custody. She graduated with honors from Gonzaga University in 2009, where she served as the only female student body president in a 20-year span and was a Rhodes Scholarship finalist. She earned her law degree with high honors from the University of Washington School of Law in 2014 as a William H. Gates Public Service Law Scholar and served as president of the Student Bar Association.

After law school, Woods clerked for U.S. District Court Judge John Coughenour in the Western District of Washington. She then spent seven years as a staff attorney at the national office of the American Civil Liberties Union, where she led litigation on criminal justice reform and jail conditions, including work on behalf of medically vulnerable individuals in custody during the COVID-19 pandemic. Woods is admitted to practice in Washington and New York and in the Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Eighth, Tenth, and Eleventh U.S. Courts of Appeals.
