About Craig Sims

Craig is an accomplished trial lawyer with over 25 years of litigation and leadership experience. His practice focuses on seeking accountability while honoring the lives of his clients and their families. Craig has a proven record of litigation including large verdict wins and settlements exceeding $20 million, and he has been the lead trial lawyer in multiple trials with successful plaintiff verdicts, including the largest asbestos jury award in the state of Oregon. Prior to entering private practice, Craig served as the Criminal Division Chief in the Seattle City Attorney's Office, leading a team of more than sixty attorneys and staff.

He also served as a Senior King County Prosecutor. Craig has taught as an adjunct professor at Seattle University School of Law and a visiting lecturer at the University of Washington Law School. He is a member and past president of the Loren Miller Bar Association.

The family of Giovonn Joseph-McDade, an unarmed 20-year-old Black man shot and killed by a Kent Police officer in 2017 following a traffic stop for expired registration, settled their federal civil-rights and wrongful-death lawsuit against the City of Kent for $4.4 million in April 2021.
