About Tomas Gahan

Tomas A. Gahan is a partner at PWRFL Law in Seattle, Washington, focusing on civil rights, medical malpractice, personal injury, insurance bad faith, construction accidents, and appellate practice. He received a B.A. in English and Philosophy magna cum laude from Seattle University and earned his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School, completing his second year in London. Before joining PWRFL, Gahan spent eleven years as a senior deputy prosecutor at the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, trying nearly 100 cases. He was co-counsel on the December 2022 $82 million King County jury verdict against Monsanto on behalf of a PCB plaintiff, the largest individual verdict against Monsanto for any of its products.

He also obtained a $15 million judgment in Vignola v. M.O.E. and a verdict exceeding $3 million in Milliken v. Munchbar. In 2017 Gahan secured the first plaintiff's jury verdict in Yakima County in 25 years. He serves as co-chair of the Washington State Association for Justice's Civil Rights section and teaches at the University of Washington Trial Advocacy course.

A King County jury returned an $82 million verdict against Monsanto in December 2022 for a family exposed to PCBs at the Sky Valley Education Center in Monroe, Washington, awarding $20.5 million in compensatory damages and $61.5 million in punitive damages to one member of the family. The firm described it as the largest verdict against Monsanto for an individual plaintiff in any PCB case.
