Erik Heipt

Erik Heipt is a civil rights litigator and co-founder of Budge & Heipt, PLLC. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado in 1991 and his law degree from Willamette University College of Law in 1994, where he served as an Associate Editor of the Willamette Law Review. Following law school, Heipt completed a one-year judicial clerkship with Justice Mario Ramil of the Hawaii Supreme Court and then worked as a litigation associate at Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson in Washington, D.C. He co-founded Budge & Heipt in Seattle in 1998. Heipt is admitted to practice in Washington and California and is regularly recognized as a Washington Super Lawyer by Washington Law & Politics Magazine, a distinction received by fewer than five percent of attorneys in the state. His work on civil rights cases has been covered by the New York Times, Washington Post, Newsweek, CNN, NBC, CBS, NPR, and other national outlets.
