About David Beninger

David Beninger has generated more than 100 verdicts and settlements in excess of $1 million, including the largest results in Washington state for wrongful death, nursing home negligence, maritime injury, bicycle accident, electrical brain injury, post-concussive syndrome, injury to spousal relations, and three of the five largest insurance bad faith outcomes in the state. His work has contributed to pipeline safety laws, domestic violence laws, and company and industry-wide changes in insurance and construction practices. Notable cases include claims arising from the Washington D.C. Sniper shootings, the Olympic pipeline explosion that killed two 10-year-old boys, and two Anacortes refinery explosions that claimed the lives of 12 workers. Together with Patricia Anderson, he obtained a $150 million jury verdict for families who lost loved ones in the 2019 Seattle crane collapse, with approximately $52 million awarded to the Justad family after a six-week trial.

Beninger is a member of the Damage Attorneys Round Table (DART), the Inner Circle of Advocates, and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He was the 2017 WSAJ Tom Chambers Trial Lawyer of the Year and has been selected as a Super Lawyer by Washington Law and Politics in each of its annual editions. He holds a B.A. in Economics and a J.D. from the University of Washington and is a participating faculty member for the International Justice Advocacy Africa trial training program.
