About Michael Wampold

Michael S. Wampold is a partner at PWRFL Law in Seattle, Washington, where he focuses on medical malpractice, civil rights, construction accidents, insurance bad faith, personal injury, and appellate practice. He earned a B.A. in History magna cum laude from Yale University and his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law. Wampold served as lead counsel on what was reported as Washington State's largest verdict at the time, the $857 million Bard v. Pharmacia judgment. He also co-tried the $82 million King County jury verdict against Monsanto in 2022 on behalf of an individual PCB plaintiff, the largest such individual verdict against Monsanto in the United States at the time.

He has secured a $10 million wrongful death settlement against King County, a $7.15 million settlement from the State of Washington in a highway design case, and participated in a $48 million recovery for Oregon fire survivors. Wampold has been named Washington State Association for Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year and is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, ABOTA, DART, and the Inner Circle of Advocates. He is an instructor at the University of Washington School of Law.

A King County jury returned an $82 million verdict against Monsanto in December 2022 for a family exposed to PCBs at the Sky Valley Education Center in Monroe, Washington, awarding $20.5 million in compensatory damages and $61.5 million in punitive damages to one member of the family. The firm described it as the largest verdict against Monsanto for an individual plaintiff in any PCB case.
