Thomas Principe

Thomas J. Principe is a partner at Kramer, Dillof, Livingston & Moore. He came to the firm in April 1989 after practicing as a defense attorney, having previously squared off against fellow partner Thomas Moore on multiple occasions before Moore recruited him to join KDLM. At the firm, he conducts examinations before trial, using his defense background to illuminate opposing strategies and sift through medical records and transcriptions. He previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County from 1974 to 1979, rising to Deputy Bureau Chief of the Supreme Court Trial Bureau.

He served on the Mayor's Advisory Committee on the Judiciary for New York City starting in 2014. Principe retired as a Brigadier General from the New York Army National Guard in July 2006 after 33 years of service, earning the Legion of Merit from the U.S. Army and the Conspicuous Service Medal from the State of New York. During September 11, 2001 operations, he authored personnel guidelines on Rules of Engagement, Excessive Use of Force, and Employment Rights. He is a past president of the St. John's University School of Law Alumni Association and has been President of the Veterans of the Seventh Regiment in Manhattan since 2007.
