About Bruce Braley

Bruce Braley was a respected plaintiff trial lawyer in Iowa for 23 years before serving two terms in Congress as U.S. Representative for Iowa's 1st Congressional District. In 2015 he joined Leventhal Puga Braley P.C. as a partner and continues his trial practice in Colorado. Prior to law, he held a wide range of jobs including truck driver, grain elevator worker, cook, and law clerk, each of which shaped how he tells clients' stories at trial.

Bruce earned his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1983 and his B.A. from Iowa State University in 1980. He has been named a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the National College of Advocacy, and the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers, and has received awards from state and local trial lawyer associations in Iowa, New York, Philadelphia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. He served as President of the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association and the Iowa Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and as a Board Governor of the American Association for Justice.
