About C. Joseph McCoy

C. Joseph McCoy is a trial lawyer at Michael Hill Trial Law with a practice focused on nursing home neglect and abuse cases. Before entering plaintiff law, McCoy began his career defending cases against doctors, dentists, and nursing homes, experience that now informs his understanding of defense strategies. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Grove City College in Pennsylvania, where he was a four-year letterwinner, three-year starter, and two-year captain on the basketball team and also competed in Steeplechase for the track team, remaining in the college record books for three-pointers made and free throw percentage. He received his Juris Doctor from Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University in 2014 and was admitted to the Ohio bar that same year.

During law school, he received multiple awards as the highest-achieving student in Constitutional Law, Property, Legal Writing, Professional Responsibility, and Trial Advocacy. He has been recognized as an Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star annually from 2021 through the present and has served as a Trustee for the Ohio Association for Justice. McCoy lives in Granville, Ohio with his wife Tisha and four children.
