About Dave Carlson

Dave Carlson earned a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Arizona in 1993 and graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2001, serving as Class Speaker for the graduating class. He later completed the Judicial Education Program focused on corporate governance and law and economics at George Mason University's Antonin Scalia School of Law in 2021. Carlson was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2001, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 2002, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana in 2003. He served as an Associate Judge beginning in 2013 and as a Circuit Judge in the Felony Division from 2014 to 2024, after which he joined Schwartz Jambois to practice personal injury law. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and The Illinois Judges Association.
