Kristin Barnette McCarthy

Kristin Barnette McCarthy earned her Juris Doctor from DePaul College of Law in 2004, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the DePaul Journal of Healthcare Law and as a research assistant to Professor Stephen Landsman in Torts and Social Policy. She is admitted to practice in Illinois, Iowa, and Florida. McCarthy has tried more than 100 jury trials to verdict and has obtained reversals before the Seventh Circuit United States Court of Appeals and the First District Appellate Court of Illinois.

She has been named to the Illinois Super Lawyers list annually since 2020 and was ranked among the top ten Emerging Lawyers by peer vote. Crain's Chicago Business named her among the Most Influential Women Lawyers in Chicago in 2017, and the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin recognized her as one of 40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch in 2014. McCarthy served as President of the Women's Bar Association of Illinois from 2017 to 2018 and was appointed to the Illinois Supreme Court Committee for Character and Fitness in 2014.
