About Michael Burke
Michael Burke graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northern Illinois University in 1980 and earned his J.D. with highest distinction from The John Marshall Law School in 1984. He began his legal career as an Assistant State's Attorney in DuPage County before being elected to the trial bench in DuPage County, where he served as a trial judge for more than 30 years. Burke subsequently served as a justice on the Illinois Appellate Court and the Illinois Supreme Court, authoring opinions across virtually every area of the law. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and currently serves as a neutral arbitrator and mediator with the American Arbitration Association on its Judicial, Commercial, Consumer, and Appellate Panels. Burke is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Judges Association and has contributed extensively to legal publications and continuing legal education programs.
