About April Strahan
April Ann Strahan was born in Beaumont, Texas and received her B.A. from the University of Houston. Before law school she worked for a jury consulting firm in Boston as an assistant trial director, attending mock trials across the country and assisting with jury research. She attended South Texas College of Law, where she earned several advocacy awards in moot court and mock trial competitions, served as Managing Editor of the Construction Law Journal, and was a member of the South Texas Law Review.
After graduation she served as Briefing Attorney for Judge Michael Keasler on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, then joined The Ammons Law Firm as an associate in 2007 and later earned partnership. April obtained a judgment of over $50.65 million on behalf of three families who were injured and lost loved ones in the Sutherland Springs church shooting, the first case in history in which the United States government was held civilly liable for a mass shooting. She was named to the Texas Super Lawyers list in 2020 and 2021 after several years on the Rising Stars list.
