Dennis Egan

Dennis E. Egan is a nationally recognized trial attorney with nearly five decades of experience representing plaintiffs in complex employment and civil rights cases. As a partner at Popham Injury Law, Dennis has been at the forefront of employment law since 1985, securing landmark verdicts and shaping legal precedent under the Missouri Human Rights Act. Born and raised in Kansas City, he graduated from Rockhurst High School in 1969, earned a full Evans Scholarship to the University of Missouri where he graduated with highest honors from the Journalism School in 1973, and then earned his law degree in 1976 on a Curators Scholarship. He clerked for Missouri Supreme Court Justice Fred Henley from 1976 to 1977 before joining Gage and Tucker and later becoming a partner at Popham in 1985.

By 2025, Dennis had tried approximately 158 cases, including 123 jury trials. He argued a U.S. Supreme Court case in 2007 winning a 9-0 decision on the admissibility of 'me too' witnesses, and later expanded that precedent in the Missouri Supreme Court's Cox v. KC Chiefs. He founded the Kansas City chapter of NELA in 1993 and co-founded NELA's Trial Boot Camp. He was named an ICON by Missouri Lawyers Media in 2018 and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America every year since 1993.
