About Jonathan P. Kieffer

Represented hundreds of the nation’s largest school districts against e-cigarette maker Juul Labs, Inc. and Altria Group (Philip Morris) in litigation alleging the defendants targeted underaged youth and caused an e-cigarette epidemic in schools, resulting in a historic $1.9 billion settlement. Currently representing school districts across the country in litigation against Meta, TikTok and other social media companies related to the platforms’ role in causing a youth mental health crisis in school-aged students. Attorney Jon Kieffer is a Partner with Wagstaff & Cartmell, where he has practiced since 1998. Jon represents individuals and businesses as plaintiffs and defendants in a wide variety of litigation matters in state and federal trial and appellate courts nationwide.

His practice includes litigation arising from product liability, professional liability, serious injury and wrongful death, insurance bad faith, and commercial litigation, including business torts. Jon is a Fellow in the International Society of Barristers (ISOB), which includes less than 700 lawyers from the United States, Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, and Australia judged by their peers to be outstanding in the field of advocacy. Membership is by invitation only, which is preceded by a rigorous screening process that considers the lawyer’s ability, experience, accomplishments, and ethical standards as assessed by trial lawyers and judges. One of the ISOB’s principal goals is the preservation of the adversary system and jury trial.

Jon is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Membership in the ABOTA is by invitation only to those having a threshold number of civil jury trials tried to verdict. Jon has been repeatedly selected as one of Lawdragon's 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers.
