About Conrad Nowak
Conrad C. Nowak joined Corboy & Demetrio in 2023, bringing more than 18 years of defense litigation experience across personal injury, product liability, toxic tort, construction, aviation, trucking, and commercial litigation. As a former litigation partner at a national firm, he successfully represented clients at trials, mediations, and arbitrations, leveraging that background to serve individuals and families harmed by the negligence of others, including individuals, manufacturers, and large corporations.

Nowak graduated from DePaul University with honors, earning a B.A. in History in 1998. He obtained his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2002, where he served as Features Editor of The Loyola University Forum of International Law and Assistant Features Editor of The Public Interest Law Reporter. After law school, Nowak completed judicial clerkships for the Honorable William D. Maddux, Presiding Judge of the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, and the Honorable Sharon Johnson Coleman. As a law student, he completed internships with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Chicago District Office. As an undergraduate at DePaul University, Nowak was a starter on the Division I Men's Varsity Tennis Team and competed on the ATP Professional Tour, obtaining a world ranking.
Nowak is a recognized advocate for veterans' mental health, suicide awareness, and suicide prevention. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Lawyers' Assistance Program of Illinois. He is a past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Polish American Association and Field Ready, serves as a Board Member of RedR U.S., and as Co-Chair of the Warsaw Committee of Chicago Sister Cities International. In 2025, Nowak received the Volunteer of the Year Award from World Business Chicago and Sister Cities International. The proud son of immigrant parents, he speaks Polish fluently and is familiar with Serbo-Croatian.

A federal judge in Chicago entered a default judgment against the Islamic Republic of Iran for a 2009 roadside bomb attack in Iraq that killed Army Sergeant Joshua Soto and injured his platoon leader, First Lieutenant Miles Murray. Iran never appeared, and the court heard the plaintiffs' proof at a four-day evidentiary hearing. Murray was awarded $28 million, Soto's widow $32 million, and the couple's minor son $20 million, each including punitive damages.
