About Kenneth Lumb

Kenneth T. Lumb joined Corboy & Demetrio as a Chicago personal injury and medical malpractice lawyer in 1995 following military service. He became Partner in 2015, Managing Partner in 2019, and Equity Partner in 2026.

As a captain in the Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps, Lumb served four years as Medical Claims Judge Advocate at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., handling medical malpractice defense and hospital law. He also served as Special Assistant United States Attorney. In 2003, he was mobilized for Operation Enduring Freedom, spending six months on active duty at Walter Reed and receiving a Meritorious Service Medal. He is currently a retired major in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Lumb's practice encompasses aviation, mass torts, medical malpractice, and general personal injury litigation. He has secured numerous multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements, including an $11 million verdict for a child with birth-related brain damage and a $10.5 million verdict for a woman's estate in an anesthesia case.

He co-hosts the firm's video podcast, Masters of Trial Law, and serves in leadership roles within multiple legal organizations, including Chair of the Federal Torts and Military Advocacy Section at the American Association for Justice and Chair of the Standing Committee on Military Affairs at the Illinois State Bar Association.
