Carl Mueller

Carl Mueller is an attorney at Edelman & Thompson Law Firm in Kansas City, specializing exclusively in workers' compensation cases.

Mueller transitioned from the bench to private practice in 2011, having served as a Missouri Workers' Compensation Judge for 20 years. He was the first Missouri workers' comp judge in Kansas City in three decades to transition from serving as a judge to practicing law.

Mueller earned his law degree and MBA from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He earned his undergraduate degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri.

His judicial record includes mediating 7,630 cases, approving 11,477 settlements, and conducting 575 hearings. He was the first Missouri work comp judge to complete the National Judicial College's Administrative Law Adjudication Skills program and is a certified mediator under Missouri Supreme Court Rule 17.

He previously served as assistant for legislative affairs under Missouri Governor John Ashcroft. He authored a comprehensive review of Missouri work comp law amendments featured in Missouri Lawyer's Weekly.
