Charles Scott

Charles L. Scott, Jr. is a partner at Kelley | Uustal Trial Attorneys who litigates catastrophic injury and wrongful death lawsuits with a focus on mass torts and tobacco litigation. Before joining the firm, he managed the tobacco litigation department at a prominent West Palm Beach trial firm, where he built his reputation representing decertified class members in Engle progeny lawsuits against the major cigarette manufacturers. He has recovered more than $60 million in settlements for injured smokers and their families, won multiple appeals, served on a record-breaking trial team against Big Tobacco, and secured a multimillion dollar settlement for a victim of secondhand smoke. Scott has been recognized by Best Lawyers Ones to Watch in America for plaintiff-side mass tort, personal injury, and product liability litigation, was named among the National Law Journal's Elite Trial Lawyers Rising Stars of the Plaintiffs Bar in 2024, and received the National Bar Association's Nation's Best Advocates 40 Lawyers Under 40 honor in 2021.

He serves as guest faculty for the Built Different Trial Academy, teaching opening statements and closing arguments. He earned his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, including an international law exchange at Monash University in Australia, and his B.A. from the University of Kentucky. Originally from Ohio, he sponsors Juneteenth celebrations in West Palm Beach and is active in mentorship in his community.
