About Les Weisbrod

Les Weisbrod has practiced medical malpractice trial law since being admitted to the Texas bar in 1978. Since May 1986 he has tried or settled more than 230 medical negligence cases that each resulted in verdicts or settlements of $1 million or more, and has resolved 75 birth injury cases above that threshold individually. His $31 million verdict against Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas was listed among the top 100 verdicts in the United States for its year. A professor of law at Suffolk University Law School has written that Weisbrod has obtained more medical malpractice punitive damage jury verdicts than any other attorney in the United States.

He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Weisbrod served as President of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and held its top executive positions, and was founding Co-Chair of AAJ's Birth Trauma Litigation Group (1991) and Medical Negligence Litigation Group (1999). He has handled birth injury and medical negligence cases in Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Utah, Iowa, Ohio, Oregon, Montana, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, New York, and Washington State.
