Michael Lyons

Michael P. Lyons is a founding partner of Lyons & Simmons in Dallas, where he represents victims of catastrophic injury and wrongful death nationwide. With more than 26 years of litigation experience, he handles motor vehicle and trucking crashes, aviation accidents, construction and oilfield disasters, fires and explosions, medical malpractice, and product liability cases, and since 2023 he has secured verdicts and settlements exceeding $1 billion. His results include the $860 million wrongful death verdict in the 2023 Dallas crane-collapse case, the $109.5 million Rymers v. CPS Energy gas explosion verdict in 2025, and a $37.5 million trucking wrongful death verdict in 2024.

Lyons previously practiced at Deans & Lyons before launching Lyons & Simmons with Chris Simmons in 2020. He earned his J.D. cum laude from South Texas College of Law in 1999, where he served as assistant editor of the Corporate Counsel Review, and a B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin in 1995. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, serves on the Texas Trial Lawyers Association executive committee as Vice President of Finance, has been named to the Top 100 Texas Super Lawyers list, and received the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association's John Howie Award in 2021.
