P. Wes Black

P. Wes Black is a partner at Lyons & Simmons who pairs first-chair trial work with appellate specialization. He is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and represents clients in catastrophic personal injury, product liability, and high-stakes commercial disputes, handling both trial and appellate proceedings. He was part of the trial team that won the $109.5 million Rymers v. CPS Energy gas explosion verdict in 2025. Before entering private practice, Black served as briefing attorney for Chief Justice Rex Davis of the Tenth Judicial District Court of Appeals in Waco.

He earned his J.D. from Baylor University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Baylor Law Review, and a B.A. in history from The University of Texas at Austin. His honors include selection to The Best Lawyers in America, the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America, the National Trial Lawyers Top 100, D Magazine's Best Lawyers in Dallas, and Texas Super Lawyers. He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association.
