Chris Hamilton

Chris Hamilton is a co-founder and owner of Hamilton Wingo in Dallas and one of the country's most prominent plaintiff's trial lawyers, with more than $8 billion in verdicts and settlements as lead counsel. He began his career at Legal Aid and won his first multi-million-dollar jury verdict while still in his twenties, and over two decades has focused on catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and complex business disputes. He was lead trial counsel in Goff v. Charter Communications, the 2022 Dallas case in which a jury returned a combined $7.375 billion verdict against Charter for the murder of an elderly customer by a Spectrum technician, the fourth largest personal injury verdict against a corporation in U.S. history. Hamilton is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, was the American Association for Justice Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year in 2017, was inducted into the Texas Lawyer Hall of Fame in 2026, teaches trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at SMU, and speaks fluent Spanish. He earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. cum laude from Texas Christian University.
