Stephen Higdon

Stephen Higdon is a partner at Lyons & Simmons who represents clients in personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, oilfield disaster, trucking accident, fire and explosion, and industrial accident cases against corporations and insurers. He began his legal career clerking for U.S. District Judge Michael H. Schneider in the Eastern District of Texas, experience he draws on in forcing disclosure of documents and witnesses that defendants would prefer to keep hidden. His results include a $70 million wrongful death recovery in a negligent security case, a $25 million wrongful death recovery in a gas explosion case, and a $23 million wrongful death recovery arising from an oil rig fatality.

He joined Michael Lyons and Chris Simmons in launching Lyons & Simmons in 2020 and received the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association's John Howie Award in 2021. Higdon earned his J.D. summa cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, and a B.A. in political science from Southwestern University. He has been recognized in the Lawdragon Top 500 Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers guide, Texas Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, and D Magazine's Best Lawyers Under 40 in Dallas.
