About Benjamin Gauen

Ben represents individuals and families harmed by powerful institutions, government agencies, medical providers, and perpetrators who abuse positions of trust. With more than fifteen years as a trial attorney, Ben's practice focuses on complex civil litigation involving civil rights violations, medical negligence, wrongful death, catastrophic injury, sexual abuse and assault, and human trafficking. Before joining Schroeter Goldmark & Bender, Ben served as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney with the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted serious and complex crimes including child sexual abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, homicide, and sex trafficking, successfully trying more than sixty cases to verdict. He also directed the King County Prosecutor's Office anti-human trafficking response. He currently serves as Board Chair for Everstrong, an anti-trafficking organization.
