About Jennifer Kilpatrick

Jennifer Kilpatrick is part of Bachus & Schanker, LLC’s litigation team. Jenn joined Bachus & Schanker, LLC in 2025. Before joining the firm, Jenn was the Director of Conviction Integrity and Equity at the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office. As the Director, Jenn litigated complex post-conviction matters, investigated claims of actual innocence, and reviewed cases of excessive sentencing.

In addition, Jenn prosecuted cases involving government misconduct. Jenn was previously a Colorado State Public Defender and criminal defense practitioner in both state and federal court. Jenn is an experienced trial attorney and state court practitioner. With over 55 jury trials and hundreds of contested hearings under her belt, she has built a reputation as a skilled and credible litigator.

She focuses her litigation on thorough fact and legal issue review, strategic litigation, and skillful negotiation. She is a compassionate, patient, and caring advocate. Jenn is dedicated to holding others accountable to make our communities a safer place for all. Jenn is a fifth-generation Coloradoan.

She completed her undergraduate degree at Colorado State University and her law degree at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She is the former Vice Chair of the Jefferson County Community Corrections Board and the former President of the First Judicial Bar Association. She is a 2020 graduate of the Colorado Bar Association Leadership Training (COBALT).
