A Cobb County State Court jury awarded $5 million in September 2019 to Salvador Reyes, an 18-year-old Campbell High School student who fractured his skull and suffered frontal lobe brain damage in a bubble soccer game run by Game Truck Georgia, LLC. The jury assigned 7 percent of the fault to Reyes, which brought the judgment to about $4.65 million. In June 2021 the Georgia Court of Appeals reversed the judgment and ordered a new trial.
A Douglas County State Court jury found Douglas Hospital 100 percent at fault after Carolyn Byrom fell while getting out of a hospital wheelchair in 2013 and broke her leg. Her lawyers said she never walked again. The jury awarded $2,665,511.46 in July 2018, made up of $2.5 million for pain and suffering and $165,511.46 in medical expenses.
