About L. Chris Stewart

L. Chris Stewart is the Managing Partner of Stewart Miller Simmons Trial Attorneys. He is recognized worldwide as one of the top civil rights lawyers of his generation, having represented some of the most prominent civil rights cases of this century, including those of Walter Scott, Alton Sterling, Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and Rayshard Brooks. Stewart handles wrongful death, civil rights, premises liability, trucking, and sexual assault cases. He made U.S. history by winning the first billion-dollar jury verdict for a rape victim and has collected over $200 million in personal injury cases for his clients.

He has been featured in international media including CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, The New York Times, Fox News, Good Morning America, The Today Show, and Forbes. A double HBCU alumnus, he graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with honors in English, earned a Master of Science in Public Health from Tulane University, and received his J.D. from Howard University School of Law. He is a board member of the Southern Center for Human Rights and Georgia Appleseed, and is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association.
