Katelyn DeRuyter

Katelyn DeRuyter is an attorney at John Foy & Associates in Atlanta, Georgia, with approximately a decade of legal practice.

DeRuyter earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2014 and her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from St. Olaf College in 2011. She is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia (2014), the Georgia Court of Appeals (2017), the Supreme Court of Georgia (2017), and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia (2019).

DeRuyter began her career as an Assistant Solicitor General prosecuting misdemeanor crimes for three years, then served as an associate attorney at a regional insurance defense firm in Atlanta and as a claims manager at an international insurance company before joining John Foy & Associates. She also served in the Minnesota Army National Guard, completing Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina in summer 2011. Raised in Atlanta, she spent seven years in Minnesota for higher education.
