Sonia Allahdad

Sonia Allahdad is an associate at Levy Konigsberg LLP who advocates for incarcerated women harmed by correctional officers. She joined the firm's Sex Abuse division during investigations into allegations arising from Bayview Correctional Facility, a now-closed medium-security women's prison in Manhattan. In 2008 and 2009, the facility had the highest percentage of reported staff-on-inmate sexual abuse incidents nationally, with documented abuse dating back to the 1980s.

Under New York's Adult Survivors Act, previously time-barred claims could be filed through November 2023. Her investigative work revealed that the abuse was widespread and systemic, with officers using their positions of power to exploit vulnerable inmates for decades. Her efforts contributed to Levy Konigsberg bringing claims against seven correctional facilities.
