About Jonathan Day
Jonathan C.C. Day is a trial attorney at Sorrels Law with more than 25 years of experience developing complex litigation matters for trial. He graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University in the top 1 percent of his class with honors in History and Phi Beta Kappa membership, then earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law before moving to Texas in 1999. He began his career in the litigation section of Vinson & Elkins, where he took over 100 depositions, then gained extensive courtroom experience in high-dollar commercial litigation with Paul J. Dobrowski, making more than 50 courtroom appearances.
He later started his own firm in the Houston Heights and expanded into plaintiffs' personal injury work. Working with Roberts Markland LLP, he obtained a $4 million verdict in a shoulder injury case where the pre-trial offer was only $40,000, a result affirmed by the Fifth Circuit, and a $20 million federal court verdict in an intellectual property case. In 2024 he was lead lawyer on a team that won a unanimous, clear-and-convincing million-dollar verdict in Harris County after the defendant offered nothing before trial. He has served for more than ten years as a FINRA arbitrator, including on three panels involving disputes over $1 million.
